Antenatal Classes are a great resource to help you prepare for the final stages of pregnancy, the birth of your child, and becoming a parent. Bloom Health's antenatal classes are run by our qualified and experienced Midwife.
During these classes, we will cover many topics such as health and wellbeing, labour and childbirth, and how to care for your baby while working within HSE guidelines. You will have the opportunity to ask questions or concerns you may have. Antenatal classes are not just for pregnant women, and we always recommend that partners also attend classes. Not only are these antenatal classes informative and practical, but they are also a great place to meet with other pregnant women and couples, share experiences, and bond. Bloom Health offers a safe, and non-judgmental space for pregnant women to come together and learn in an open and welcoming environment.

Antenatal Classes with Bloom Health
Online Antenatal Class
While antenatal classes are normally held in our Sandyford Clinic, classes are now taking places online for the foreseeable future. We know that many expectant mothers are very wary of Covid-19, and you may not be comfortable attending a class with other people. From the comfort of your
own home, you will still receive the same high level of service that Bloom Health is known for. All topics will be covered as standard. These online classes are interactive, which gives you the opportunity to ask questions and participate in discussions.
Online antenatal classes are held on the first Sunday of every month from 11am - 3pm, with some breaks. Classes take place via Zoom and once you book your place in the class you will receive an invitation link in your email.
Are partners welcome in antenatal classes?
Of course. We encourage all partners to attend antenatal classes. The information in our classes is very varied, and we cover many topics, such as your relationship, mental health, preparing your home, and caring for the baby, which are important for both mothers and their partners.
This is my second child. Can I still attend a class?
Mothers of all kind are welcome in our antenatal classes. Whether this is your first or fifth baby, there is always something new for you to learn. You can also share your previous experiences and knowledge which can be hugely beneficial for first-time mothers.
How does an online antenatal class work?
Our antenatal classes are held using Zoom. This is an online video chat platform which allows our midwife to carry out an antenatal class in a very similar way to a class in our clinic. You will be able to see our midwife and any props we use. We also utilise presentations and screen share tools. Since zoom is an interactive platform you will have the ability to ask questions and participate in discussions.
